Anne Murray1946年6月20日出生于加拿大的新斯科舍的一个医生家庭。 Anne从小就受到当地颇有名望的音乐人 士的启蒙教育，她常自弹自唱，并以此为乐。 尽管如此，她还是认为音乐只是一项娱乐。


直到1964年的某一天，有人劝她去听一下一个电视专栏节目“Sing Along Jubilee”， 而Anne却选择另一档节目“Let's Go”来欣赏，这个由 Bill Langstroth（她后来的丈夫）主持的节目深深吸引了她，使她走上了以音乐为伴的人生...

Anne Murray 以她寬廣的音域及極富磁性的嗓音征服全球樂壇，Anne Murray過去曾經締造多項史無前例的紀錄，她對新一代樂迷來說，也許略顯陌生，卻點燃樂壇無數後生晚輩對歌唱事業的熱情。Anne Murray是首位榮登美國排行榜冠軍寶座，勇奪CMA鄉村音樂獎的加拿大籍女歌手。她的成功為席琳狄翁(Celine Dion)、莎拉克勞克蘭(Sarah McLachlan)、仙妮亞唐恩(Shania Twain)等加拿大籍女性歌手豎立完美典範。仍然定居於多倫多的Anne Murray，除了無數朱諾獎(Juno Awards)與其它加國國內獎座，她過去總計榮獲4座葛萊美獎、3座CMA鄉村音樂大獎加冕肯定。 .
